My name is Samuel - I bet you are wondering what I am doing in the dachshund rescue. It is true - I am not a dachshund - but I needed some help to find the perfect family for me so DDR volunteered to help. I get along great with the dachshunds here. I love to play and I love to snuggle. I love children very much. I am so sweet - and I know a few tricks too. Please come and meet me. I would make a great member of your family. I do need a fenced yard to keep me safe. I run and run and play and play - without a fence I would end up lost. From Samuel's foster mom.....Samuel is a sweetie. He came to DDR after a kind gentleman picked him up after he was hit by a car. Samuel's only residual effects from the accident were his tail had to be amputated and he doesn't always have control of his bowels. He tries to get to the door but sometimes he doesn't make it in time. His foster mom has his schedule down so he does really well at her house, she kennels him during the day when she's at work and also at night when it's bedtime. DDR has taken Samuel for extensive chiropractic and acupuncture with Dr Nikki, she says he is 80% of back to normal and because of the accident this is as much as we can expect. Give Samuel a chance, he tries very hard and once you get his routine down he does great!
