October 7th 2024 Update.....Ellie was born with severe pulmonic valve stenosis and she also had a residual patent ductus arteriosus.

We took her to Veterinary Medical Center at UMN St Paul where she had a pulmonary balloon angioplasty, this relieved her pulmonary valve gradient however they could not close her PDA as it was too small to get an occluder plug into it.

Ellie had a follow up echocardiogram last Friday, it showed her pulmonary valve has restenost , she again has a severe gradient crossed her valve.
She will have a stent placed mid November.

There is no guarantee she won't have to have the stent ballooned in future years.

She is growing and thriving. She doesn't know she has a heart issue ;)
She is a sweetie!

My name is Ellie, I am  4 1/2 months old. I can to Dakota Dachshund Rescue as I am a puppy with a Grade 5 heart murmur. I met Dr Joe at Veterinary Medical Center at UMN St Paul. He told me I had a very bad pulmonary valve stenosis that needed to be ballooned open and I also have an extra vessel that didn't close after birth that needs attention also.
I had my pulmonary valve balloon valvuloplasty on August 21st. Unfortunately Dr Joe couldn't plug the extra vessel at the same time so I will go back for a recheck mid November for reassessment. I also have to be assessed by Dr Paul for elongated soft palate. Lots going on for me, I just know I am growing like a weed now that my pulmonary valve was ballooned and my heart isn't taking all the calories. What I need is lots of support to help pay my veterinarian bills.....they are bigger than me ;) Can you help support me while DDR works through what all I need medically?

I weigh about 10 pounds now and my adoption fee is $750 plus $33.75 tax for a total of $783.75
