Dax needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
Howdy! My name is Dax.
I came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue because my mom couldn't take care of me anymore. I had a few medical issues that DDR has worked through and I am really wanting a furever home of my own. I've been searching for my furever home since July 2018! I do fine with the other dogs in my foster home however those younger pups do drive me a bit crazy. I love blankets....blankets on the couch, blankets in the bed, blankets in my kennel! Doesn't matter how warm it is I love me a soft comfy blanket! I am on prescription food, lowfat Royal Canin Gastro Intestinal, my GI tract is back to normal. I love my foster mom, snuggling in bed with her, just hangin' out is fine by me. Can you be my furever home? I am 12 years old, I weigh 14 lbs, my adoption fee is $250 plus sales tax $11.25 =$261.25 More about DaxGood with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids Sponsors: Judith Aijala. He will have follow up bloodwork soon. UPDATE: 9/3/2020 Dax has had some medical issues since March 2020. He was diagnosed with whipworm and he was treted. He continues to have chronic diarrhea and has to have weekly B12 shots as his albumin and B12 drop to critical levels. We have him on specialty food, have tried many including a keto diet. He is now going to try Science Diet Biome. He is also on metronidazole twice daily. We are working hard on figuring out how else we can help this sweet boy. Can you help us with some of Dax's vet bills? You can sponsor Dax once or monthly or whenever you have a little extra change or a dollar or two in your wallet :) I was hit by a car many years ago, my pelvis was crushed. I healed and was able to walk again because my mom took such good care of me. I can be a little sensitive when picked up, I have learned to trust my foster mom but it took a week for me to trust her not to hurt me. Dr Paul did xrays and assessed my pelvis, I may need arthritis meds or pain meds. Other Pictures of Dax (click to see larger version):
