I'm Oscar Earnhardt!  Boogety, boogety, boogety!  Let's go racing, boys!

I am a happy-go-lucky dachsie, and there is just something about me that draws in everyone who meets me.  I personally think it is the kisses I give when they look deep into my eyes.  It isn't a rumor that I am a real charmer.  I really am.  Just ask anyone at All City Emergency Hospital, or DDR, or Dr. Brent.

They saved me after I was found in a box - all alone - at night - with a back injury.  Unable to use my back legs, I couldn't get out, I couldn't protect myself, and I couldn't even go potty.  I was very scared, and my bladder was so huge, I thought I might explode!  Thank goodness they found me!

I know it isn't as good for me medically, but I do not feel any pain at all.  I would drag myself around like nobody's business, and everyone would get very excited.  I thought they were cheering me on, but they were really scared I would hurt myself.  I can't tell which way my back legs are going, or if I catch them on something, and I would just keep on keeping on.  It was then they knew they had to do surgery.

Dr. Brent found not one, but two lesions on my back.  He fixed me up real good too, and now I am back at DDR, ready for rehab.  I still do not feel any pain, and it is too soon to tell what the end result will be, but my foster mom loves me very much and she is a very determined German lady.  When she tells me I am going to be strong enough for my custom wheels, I believe her.  (Especially when we watch Nascar!)

If you are able to sponsor me, or make a donation, so that DDR can order my custom wheels, I would be forever grateful.  I know they didn't have to take me in, and as big as my heart is, my medical bills are even bigger, so the funds aren't there right now for me to get a custom ride that is made especially for me.  But most of all, If you would say a little prayer for me, and for all the people who have taken care of me since I was found, it would mean a lot.  I wouldn't be here without them!  They thought I was worth it.  And I am!  I really, really am!

P.S.  I hope you check back from time to time to see how I am doing.  I will make you proud!

I got my wheels!  They are so awesome!  I think I need a number on the side.  I just can't make up my mind if it should be 1/3 or 1/8.  I might not be quite ready for the 3, but give me awhile, and I will be tearing up the track!

As with all mom's, my foster mom insisted on taking a picture of me with my belly band on.  I am NOT happy about this.  How I am supposed to look cool wearing this???  Thankfully, she doesn't make me wear it outside where people would see me.

As for Physical Therapy and Rehab, these seem to excite my foster more than me.  I like the one on one attention, but all that stretching and leg exercises and static stands is hard.  I keep giving her kisses thinking I can distract her and we'll be done, but she is too smart for that.  I think that is a mom thing too!

She is also helping me more than I know.  Did you know I respond to touch now?  Yes, really!  When we are done with our exercises, she will tickle the bottom of my paws or squeeze them, and I pull them away.  And I do it every time!

My foster mom tells me this is the tiniest of steps, but I can tell by her eyes what a huge step this is in my recovery, and it makes me want to work extra hard in my therapy sessions.  After all, I couldn't feel anything before I had surgery.

Thank you again, to everyone who is supporting me in my journey.  I have a long ways to go, and it will take a lot of time and patience, but I am so thankful you chose me.  I have the best pit crew EVER!

Sponsors: Let's hear it for Little E's Pit Crew: LaShel Marvig ~ Kelly Highberger ~ Julie Venturino ~ Anonymous Donor ~ Pam Wylie ~ Tom & Sherri Patzer! Thank you so much!!!
