Tanner seems to have had a very difficult past.  Quick moves scare him, but once he knows you love him he very much enjoys the attention. 

One look into his eyes tells a story - but things for Tanner will be much better.  He is very much loved now, and we will work on reassuring him every day.

Tanner has changed a lot since we last talked.  He has become a very social boy and loves attention.  If you sit down, Tanner will be right there with you.  He has also discovered he very much likes toys.  He likes to run with them and rip them and squeak them.  He is a very sweet boy.

Update.     Tanner turned out to have two large hernias and needed back surgery.  He has had all that done is doing awesome!   Tanner loves to play with the other dachshunds in his foster home.  He also loves to play ball and plays with stuffed doggie toys.

Tanner is such a love, but for his safety, he can not live in a home with small children.  We know he would love them immediately, and they would be just his size to play with, but Tanner's one special little boy and we want to keep him safe - even when he thinks we don't need to!
