Just Jack needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
Jack is neutered, house trained, and up to date with his shots. Jack's previous owners had a doggie door that he used along with the other dogs in the house. A new male dog joined the family and Jack decided he needed to mark his territory so the new dog knew it was his house. His owners tried a bellyband but couldn't keep it on him. Jack has done well adjusting to the potty schedule at our house. He now lives with a German that's stronger willed than he, and we put the belly band on whenever new dachshunds are being introduced to our house. It is always dry, but we use it as a reminder for him that we potty outside. Jack does well with other dogs. He is good with teenage children but would probably not do well with children under 6 years of age. He was a little over weight, but slimmed down nicely. Jack will need to go to a home with a fenced in yard as he is a typical dachsie . . . a door dasher. He also loves to chase rabbits, birds, and especially the fat pheasants in our back yard! He sleeps in bed next to the man of the house, and we close the bedroom door so there's no getting up and roaming without us knowing it. He has only woke us up once during the night to go out to potty. Jack really is a low maintenance doxie and a lot of fun. He loves to go for rides in the car too in case you're in need of a travel partner!
