I am a 4 year old black/tan, shorthair mini Dachshund. I am a good boy. I do tinkle when I get excited. I don't mind wearing a belly band. I wont bother it or try to take it off, but I tend to pee in it on purpose if it is cold or raining and I would rather not go outside. I have never been pee pad trained; I had no interest as a puppy.

 

I have lived with babies and children; I love them both. I do well with other dogs of all sizes once I get to know them but initially, I am nervous. I like cats especially if they will play with me or snuggle in the sun. I have lived with chickens I have no interest in chasing them.

 

I do not do well in a kennel. I get anxious very quickly and will bark, drool, and eat my way out if I can. When left alone I am confined to an area with no carpet (due to the tinkling). I will do well if another dog is with me but do not like to be left alone.

 

Food:

 

Currently I am eating Hills Science Diet, ID, 2/3 cup 2x a day. Earlier this year I went through a period of vomiting. I am not sure if it was do to the nyla bones I had been chewing on upsetting my stomach or something else. The vet put me on this food, and I recovered very quickly. She said I may not need it anymore, but I have never been switched back to my previous food. I also did well on Royal Canin small dog. I have had little scraps of human food. Usually, I receive pieces of my regular food for treats or the occasional marshmallow.

 

I don't mind being bathed, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, or teeth brushed.

 

I am a sweet boy here are my favorite things:

 

Car rides, snuggling on the couch, camping, sitting by a bonfire, laying in the sun, playing with other dogs and cats, playing outside on sunny days (this gives me the zoomies). I will walk on a leash.

 

I do not like the rain but will play in the snow if you scoop me a path (nobody likes their belly dragging in the snow)

 

I am up to date on my vaccinations and am neutered. I just had my teeth cleaned.
